The Hurricane Medical clear eye shield is a sterile, single-use plastic shield used to protect the eye during or after surgery or trauma. One shield fits either eye.
What it's used for
Post-operative and post-trauma eye protection. Commonly issued to patients on discharge from day surgery after cataract, vitreoretinal and oculoplastic procedures, and used in emergency departments and eye clinics for suspected ocular injury.
Design
Clear plastic, so the eye stays visible for inspection without removing the shield. Smooth edges need no protective cover, which removes a step and a consumable. Universal for the left or right eye, so theatre and ward stock stays simple.
Sterility and use
Supplied sterile and intended for single use. A non-sterile version of the same shield is also manufactured, so check which one your protocol requires before ordering.
Supplied in packs of 50.
