"The Hurricane Medical instrument wipe is a single-use lint free PVA wipe made for cleaning delicate ophthalmic instruments at the field during microsurgery.
What it's used for
Wiping blood, tissue and debris from fine instrument tips between steps of a case, without taking the instrument off the trolley. Used across cataract, corneal graft, glaucoma, LASIK and oculoplastic procedures.
Why PVA rather than gauze
PVA becomes soft when moistened and will not drag on blades or tips. Gauze and general-purpose swabs can catch on a fine cutting edge and shed fibres into the field. The wipe is lint free, so it does not leave material behind on the instrument or near the ocular surface.
Specification
7.5 cm x 7.5 cm (3 x 3 inches). Supplied sterile and ready to use, single use only. Twenty per box.
