The BVI Visimark marking pad is a sterile, single-use pre-inked pad used to load gentian violet ink onto corneal marking instruments during refractive surgery.
What it's used for
The pad is used to ink a corneal marker, which then marks the cornea so the flap can be realigned correctly. It removes the step of preparing ink separately, which saves preparation time and keeps a consistent amount of ink on the instrument between cases.
Design
The pad is elongated and flat, which allows ink to transfer evenly onto straight markers rather than only at the point of contact. Pre-inked and ready to use.
Ink
Gentian violet. A methylene blue version of the same style of pad is manufactured, so confirm which ink your surgeons prefer before ordering.
Supplied sterile, single use, ten per box.
