Prechopper Forceps are designed to crack the nucleus into four or more fragments in the capsular bag. The shanks of the forceps open to a maximum of 1.8 mm at the incision area while the tips open to 2.8 mm. The tip of the forceps has a sharp point that initally penetrates the nucleus. When squeezing the round body handle the tips open to crack and split the nucleus. Ultrasound time can be reduced by 50 %.
